goats yields one of the finest raw materials for luxurious cashmere products.
The fibers average a diameter of 14-16 microns which is considered the finest in
the world. The length of these fibers reach 38-43 MM on the average, which
along with its diameter makes the Mongolian cashmere one of the most sought
after fibers. Annually a herder might be about to harvest enough of the
goats down to produce 1/3 of a sweater. This cashmere blanket is 330 g/m.

Cashmere Blankets:
Why
is cashmere the most luxurious
fabric in the world? Here’s the
answer: qualities of incredible
softness and lightweight warmth that
are above and beyond any other fiber
processed by man. Ever since
Victorian England "discovered" the
loft, warmth and feel of fabric made
from cashmere, it has been in demand
by those who appreciate ultimate
comfort. And demand has remained
steady throughout the decades
because of the wonderful feel or
handle of the fiber combined with
low bulk and high loft. This
incomparable softness translates to
the most comfortable bedding and
clothing money can buy.
g/m˛ or gsm is a quality of fabric
measurement meaning grams per square
meter. Robes and Towels
usually have a g/m˛ from 300 to 800.
A paper towel would have a g/m˛ of
35 to 50.

1808 by Charles Tiran and his
son-in-law Pierre-Laurent Vian, on
the banks of the Sourge River, in
the South of France. Since 1808,
seven generations have carried on
the family tradition of seeking out
the finest fibers in the world. The
wool used for their pure cashmere
blankets and throws come from China
and Mongolia. Due to the harsh
temperatures in these regions the
wool from these goats are
particularly warm, but still very
light weight and extremely soft.
This creates the perfect combination
